Megan Shannon, LMSW

Therapist & Coach

Megan Shannon Headshot MHRS.JPG

Megan earned her Master’s in Social Work from Stony Brook University, where she focused on direct clinical practice and mental health care. She has worked in a variety of settings including non-profit substance use and mental health clinics and eating disorder programs supporting adolescents, young adults, and adults from many different walks of life.

Megan brings a warm, thoughtful, and trauma-responsive approach to her work and is dedicated to creating a welcoming and safe space where people feel truly seen, heard, and respected. Her areas of focus include helping clients navigate complex trauma and PTSD, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and self-esteem concerns. Drawing from CBT, ACT, DBT, and psychodynamic techniques, Megan works holistically and collaboratively with clients. She understands that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all and tailors her approach to each individual’s unique strengths, needs, and goals, honoring their lived experiences and path toward personal growth and transformation.

Outside of her clinical work, Megan enjoys playing the guitar, painting, spending time with loved ones, and going for walks with her dog, Riley. She values self-care and enjoys supporting clients in discovering practices and routines that nurture their well-being.
