Carrie is a licensed clinical social worker who is excited to merge her passions for therapy and leadership in the role of Clinical Director of MHRS. Carrie’s experience includes past roles as Clinical Director of The Dorm, a mental health treatment center for young adults, Assistant Admissions Director at BALANCE eating disorder treatment center, and Therapist at Monte Nido Treatment Center, all in New York City.
Carrie holds a bachelor’s degree from Duke University and a master’s degree from NYU’s Silver School of Social Work. She completed a postgraduate certificate from NYU in Advanced Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, as well as specialized training in DBT, EMDR, and cognitive processing therapy (CPT) for trauma. As a therapist, Carrie draws on her extensive training in these modalities to create a unique treatment approach for each client and to utilize the most relevant tools to empower and guide her clients.
Carrie began her career focused on helping clients overcome eating disorders, but in the past five years has expanded her experience to support clients facing a broader range of challenges, including executive functioning, substance abuse, and trauma. She feels particularly passionate about working with young adults as they navigate the complicated transition into adulthood and endeavor to increase their self-understanding. No matter the issue her clients are facing, Carrie is inspired to help them enhance their self-confidence and build a life they will feel proud to call their own.
Carrie recently moved from New York to launch a new chapter of her life in Austin, Texas with her husband and baby boy.
